Remember Me

Remember Me

In the flame of remembering,

I spit the ash of patriarchy

from my body.

I rescind the title of martyr.

I dissolve the badge of less-than.

I absolve myself of the pattern.

I abolish my silence.

Now I rise as matriarch,

stand mountain-strong

with oak-spine,

infinite ancestor bones–

a lush, sacred woman

in temple of moon,

spacious and strong,

my heart-fired kingdom.

I am the Goddess,

remembered.

Goddess of ink-magic,

sunfire and moondance,

Longing, peaceful,

raging, rising–

deep-rooted Mother of

heaven and earth.
